I had a 1.6BAR boostcut set; and it didn't completely make it safe.... as you can see. This happened @ 3,000 RPM's. (thank god I was already in the shop when it happened)
Get ready for a LOT of creative mods, such as oil line routing (feed port behind the block becomes almost un-usable), and vacuum line routings/configuration.
Personally, I would say go one or the other; I myself liked being able to tippy-toe the throttle the whole time yet get great power/acceleration in town while doing it.
The car:
it can be done; you need to get the internal bypass valve to open under WG boost pressure to keep from reaching a state of compound boost.... and after a point, it requires to physically modify the plenum with a larger bypass.
Long story short, there are some easy and hard ways to do it.

on my setup I have a SC14 supercharger out of a '96-'97 Toyota Previa on my D16z6 now running 10-14psi (depends how high in the revs. I go).
On s/c I can turn my SC14 off with a switch because it has an a/c style clutch. By the way since I yanked my a/c I hooked the clutch to SC14 to the a/c switch on my dash so I can turn it on or off. With this setup I still 35mpg in town and I can out accelerate most most muscle cars and hyper diesel trucks anytime I want to.
When I run a turbo on top of the s/c for compound boost I'll have a rpm window switch on power to the clutch at 2k-7k rpms. Have a Hobb switch to turn of power going to the clutch when I reach 20psig.
The challenge right now is sizing the turbo to meet my goals 25psig. max. at 8k rpms.
The other problem is getting all this fit under the hood b/c my SC14 is boltin where my a/c compressor was.
