Personally I would trade the turbine housings and keep your turbo with no shaft play.

If you aren't going to use the stock wastegate and you just want to close that port, there is a very easy way. Just take some sheet metal and cut your own gasket but block the wastegate hole. Use two sheet just in case. Worked for me.

Swapping the housings is simple. Most likely it's just bolted on. Take a look at it. You unbolt the housing from the CHRA and install the other one in the same orientation.
You will have to disconnect the wastegate actuator rod and then reconnect it to the new housing. It really isn't difficult at all. Hell, you can call me at 828-275-1127 if you need assistance.

cool, ill have to look at the turbo, but last time i looked the exhaust housing looked like it was a huge piece that made up the bulk of the turbo ..... i cant imagine how that would come off....

ok, i will check it out when i get back to my house ..... now when i take the housing off is it attached to any main parts of the shaft?

cause i hear if u take the turbo apart then u got to get it balanced n ----...

or does is just come off, and isnt attached to any main parts of the shaft

just looking to know what im getting into, cause if its as simple as swapinf out the exhaust housings that would be great....

No dude, it isn't attached to the shaft or wheel in any way. The housing fits over the wheel. You really should only have to unbolt a few bolts, disconnect the wastegate actuator from the flapper door lever, and gently tap on the housing until it comes off. Keep the housing "even" and don't **** it sideways when pulling it off or you could possibly damage the turbine wheel. They are pretty tough and chances are you will have no issues but just be a bit careful.

if you are gonna swap housings, might as well just use the donor turbo whole since it will be in better shape obviously.

what do you mean? the turbo with the good exhaust housing has a decent amount of shaft play ...

are you trying to tell me that taking the exhaust housing off and switching them will cause damage to the turbo

maybe we are misunderstanding eachother...
