I agree, just run it..if anything it will probly make it spool slower and you won't get as consistant boost...but I bet it will still work.

if the turbo's outta the car and you have access to a welder, i personally would weld it and the grind off the excess weld so the flapper would close tight again. also, there's a gold color manifold repair glue made by permatex that you can fill the cracks up with. it's sort of like jb weld but it'll withstand high temps of manifolds/turbos.

I say run it cause I don't think it's that easy to have cast iron welded.......is it?

I would just weld it up if you were concerned about it.

cast iron is as easy to weld as exhaust tubbing, from what i've seen. the down pipe in my car is welded to a cut off o2 housing that came with my turbo and it's held on there real good.

I have been under the impression that cast iron should be heated prior to welding to get adequate penetration. Maybe something to look into.

imho, if you don't weld it, I think it will work.

anyone had any experience with the stuff this guy is talking about where can i get it

i think what i shall do is weld the ousides around the flapper up a bit to keep boost from coming through there, and im thinking the cracked area by the flapper will pretty much be blocked off by the flapper.....

maybe if i can find some info on the stuff this guys tlaking about i will try using some of it on the inside area....

i bought some of that stuff at autozone, i'd just weld the area around the flapper atleast, but i'd weld the area in the flapper too, might aswell since it's able to be welded. you can always grind off some metal from the weld so the flapper will close tight. do it right, cause it sucks to take it off once it's on.

well, heres on more otion for me .... the guy that i got it from has another with a wastegate area that is ok ...

but, it has some shafft play, about 1/16 of an inch in each direction ... so mayble just a lil over 1/8" play total....

how much shaft play is too much?? should i go with the tubo with no shaft play and a crack in it, or go with the one with the shaft play and no crack in it
