Clocking turbo
Hi all,
Trying to rotate my compressor round but i'm not sure if it'll work. It looks like the compressor is attached to the middle bit by 4 bolts, is it them that i loosen because there's 6 on the compressor but they don't seem to do anything?

Also what do i do about the wastegate?
I only want to turn it because it would make charge piping easier, but not sure if its worth the hassle

Re:Clocking turbo
yeah, it's the six bolts on the compressor, just loosen them some and it should turn fairly easily, you may need to tap it a bit. as far as your wastegate actuator, you may have to drill a hole in the compressor to mount it to, or if you can get it to line up with a different hole when you rotate it. btw, that manifold is going to crack.

how to clock center section, to rotate the compressor you just loosen the 6 bolts on teh backside.

Well i've done it And it wasn't too hard! Post pics tomorrow
One thing is, i got a lil curious and took off the whole compressor housing, was pretty clean inside except for a big blotch of thick oil, which i wiped off. That's ok isn't it?
Also, with the vacuum lines do i need to put them as they were originally or can i swap the holes if you get me? Does the direction of air flow matter!?
Oh yeh when i took the vacuum lines off, there was a bit of thick oil in there as well, is this normal?
