Default clocking my turbo

i have just bought a TD04 IIRC. from a WRX imprezza, but the guy told me the unit needs clocking so that everything fits. i assume this means rotating and was wondering if it was the same process as with the t3? also, does it defeat the point of an i/c if the piping is in contact with the radiator? due to the design of my i/c i can't run pipes into the side, they have to come straight off the back
