larger pipe directly effects your spool time. there is a larger area for the turbo to have to compress air into, so it will not reach full boost until a higher rpm compared to smaller pipes.
smaller pipes wont flow as well, but how much horsepower are you looking to make? the 4g63T engine puts out 190-195hp in its weakest turbo'd form, and its charge pipes are tiny.
I would suggest 2" or 2.25" piping.

The guy who runs speedpartsrus is a really nice guy. I emailed him with a couple questions about his intercoolers and next thing I knew he was offering a pretty good discount on what I was interested in. I'm not ready to buy my IC yet, but it's good to know.
