I'm in the process of rebuilding two of them now. One I might use for my own car and has already been spun and rebuilt. The other two have been sitting idle until I get around to rebuilding them. If you're seriously considering it I'll PM you when they're done.

Not that you'll really care, but here is an RHC6 map:

It's very similar to the RHE61:

3.3~17.5 m³/min or 116.5~618 CFM with a max Pr or 3.3 (roughly 34 psi)

General rule of thumb is 150 CFM per 100 hp so 400 hp would be within your ability with this turbo.

BUT, 400 hp would take alot of boost and the turbo would be well into it's lowest effieciency range by that point. Just because 3.3 is the max Pr doesn't mean you should try to push 34 psi.

I have a friend who was pushing 350hp on an RHF6 and that is a ball bearing design and maxes out at 16.5 m³/min. The RHC6's aren't much different and are a floating bearing design.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUP. If you want above and beyond 400 hp you'd need something like a T61.

You'd be in the 300-350hp range. HP is only known TQ and RPM anyways so you're salready at a disadvantage if you're looking for numbers only. It'll still throw you back in your seat and I'm sure you'll like it but if you're shooting for 400 hp then you're more than likely shotting yourself in the foot.

But for $30, who gives a ----.

Another problem that you'll have is the wastegate being that it's internally gated and set to 8-10 psi. I'm not sure if you're going for an external wastegate but a problem there is that most external wastegates are set for even lower boost. They're set that way to keep large turbines from overspooling. Most of them are large sizes like 46mm (2") and are set low for a reason. if you're going for an external gate, you need to think about what spring you're going to use and not blindly slap on any old external wastegate and have it open at a mere 8 psi. If you're sticking with the internal setup, you'll have to change gates for one that is set for what you're going for, or use the stock gate with springs and test it beforehand. If you need an internal, I have a Bullseye Power that starts opening at 18~20 psi and is good for 30 psi.

Either way, you're goign to have some issues to work out before you get your magik number.

be careful as that isn't necessarily the answer either. The 54 trim loses efficiency as it hits 50 lbs/min and the 50 trim is just a hair above 40. If you're going for 400 hp and beyond, you'd need something like a GT40R with a 56 trim which is closer to 60 lbs/min. if that isn't enough then you could go with a GT 42 in a 56 or 53 trim which would put you above 60 lbs/min. All of which would cost you a boatload more than a T70, 72, or 76.

Regardless, you haven't even gotten on the dyno yet and your engine might not even survive an RHC6 for all you know.

im using a 40mm external wg its got a 14 psi spring i believe

either way im using a turboxs dual stage boost controller also.

what are the main forseeable concerns really? just the fact itll run out of steam?
