as long as that goes well and i replace some gaskets i dont see why i couldnt try some boost, start out low 5-6 maybe see how it responds. thanks for the posts guys, more than ever it makes me want to boost 270k miles strong!

Small headstuds, and a small bore, doesn't go well with high power per cylinder.

Small head studs can be fixed, this is why ARP has custom age 625. If that isn't enough you can always o ring the head, if still not enough you can o ring the block as well, if still not enough you can goto fire rings, if still not enough you start tying the head to the mains. ect... There is always a way to make it seal, it is just how much are you willing to spend.
The other thing that seems interesting is that there are more and more 400whp+ d's popping up everyday, looks like lots of people have figured out how to keep it together.

As soon as it warms up to bring my other car out of mothballs, I tossing my old kit back on my cureent EF beater. Its a 150k D15B2 that has more blowby at idle than a ringless engine, but I have 2 other D's I can put in easy as pie just in case. I also turbo'd a '92 z6 that had unknown milage, was pretty dirty, and it took 10psi on uberdata before it started pushing coolant past the reused HG/oem bolts on a s-trim.
As long as you have a decent tune, old D's can take decent boost levels.

So you always reach MBTT before coolant?
It actually wasn't blown. Sealed up completely. Dropped it back down to 10psi and still made the 240 it made before. Motor's run strong and is beat on every single day for at least 3 years now.
