1994 Infiniti Q45 rear mount turbo project

Re: 1994 Infiniti Q45 rear mount turbo project
I noticed that you mentioned a wideband. Be aware that if you put it pre turbo, the exaust pressure there will cause the wideband to be less accurate. Its normally recommended to mount it post turbo, but that may not work since you have so little exaust after it to work with. Probably get some kind of reversion of fresh air back to the sensor or something.
I'm sure its not as big of problem for you since you are running such low boost, but its still something to be aware of.

Thanks for the advice. I was aware of that and was planning on installing the bung after the turbo. I've spoke to a few tuners that stick the wideband up the tailpipe for testing and it should be fine. I spoke to someone that did a similar rear turbo install on a Porsche 928 and they put the bung after the turbo and it worked properly. The exhaust isn't going anywhere except out the tailpipe and the ratios should be the same regardless of where in the exhaust you check it.
I think the stock ECU is working pretty good at the low boost but I'm already getting a rough boost map together to start tuning. My goal is 8 psi on stage 2.
In case anyone wants to check out the Porsche 928 install here's the link. I got much my inspiration from this install.

Here's a pic of the 928's tailpipes. You can see the bung there on the larger tube.
