Default #!@^ Snap Ring

How did you guy get snap ring off to rotate the compressor housing? I bought a snap ring piilers but they don't open large enough. I try grind the piliers but no luck.

go to napa and get the largest ones they have...over $40. i cheaped out and kept breaking the 20 ones i got at pepboys and i cheaped out on better ones at napa. they were large enough to get the ring out, but not quite big enough to efficiently get it back in. i spent a good part of an hour and a lot of swearing trying to get it back in.

LOL...glad to see I'm not the only one who has this problem....ACE hardware has some that come with different fittings you put in the end..they helped to get the ring off but getting it back on was a whole other story...good luck

I got two different snap rings plyers for around $10.

Either way thet thing is ----- !!! Getting it back in is just as hard as getting it out..

90 degree needlenose pliers with the ends....ehem....modified (read: grinding wheel) work well in a pinch.
