Jack the car up and put them under instead of using setting the car on jacks. Since you can get the car higher usually with it sitting on ramps with the tires still on if you don't need to remove the wheels for something like this.

i really would be weary of using a single shear pin design. im willing to bet that over time it will take its toll and either bend the brakets or even break the welds. especially since you have some distance between the pined pieces you will create a moment on the brackets. really just ad another bracket and run double shear, it will be tons stronger, take less force on each bracket and eliminate the moment.

pic of what im talking about in case you didnt understand.
obviously its drawn not to scale. it was a quick job in paint.
but that moment will put stress on both the welds and the brackets themselves.

yea i agree, vertical would be optimal, but i was just offering a easy solution with very little change.
also you are gonna want to double up on the LCA bracket too. same mecahnics apply.

I'm not saying your going to need the full articulation, but having it there a good thing.
In actual fact. I just drew it up in AutoCAD and withthe average Rod end like that you get 36deg. With that articulation you will never bury the rod end.
