I didn't know you can weld stainless with a flux-core welder? what wire did you use?

I used a regular fluxcore wire. Theoretically, you can't but I also welded reinforcements on the POS ssautochrome header with fluxcore and its holding up fine.

I'm using a Lincoln HD3200 weldpack set at A and wirespeed of 2. It lays a nice bead on thin stainless as long as there's no gap.

but w/out the gap you arent penetrating. i tend to use a higher feed rate, 7-8 and low heat, move quickly and work small areas while letting it cool inbetween. hell i welded some pipe the other day i didnt even think was metal. its used for industrial electical EMT or something like that. it turned out good, was a HMT "tool box handle" i should get pics, LOL.
