vtec ecu in nonvtec

Default vtec ecu in nonvtec

ok looking to turbo a d-series with obd2. want to go to obd1 and need ecu. hard to find non-vtec. what would hapen if i put a vtec ecu on the non-vtec motor? i am honda stupid so please be gentle..

you would have a constant CEL, and in the event something was actually wrong, you wouldnt know, because the CEL would already be on! not a good idea, just call around to junkyards, you'll find an ecu....

Wrong. You would be using a ROM editor so you can disable all the VTEC items and run a NON VTEC car just fine. P06, P05,P75 and PR4 ECU's are very easy to find and a hell of a lot cheaper than VTEC units
