Default Will running d16y8 (vtec) w/ p2e (nonvtec) ecu have performance issues!!!

I will be getting a 96 civic dx w/ a swapped 98 ex motor (d16y. Only thing is the new motor is still running the dx (p2e) model ecu and also still has the dx distributor and intake manifold. Vtec solinoid is also not hooked up. Car runs fine w/ no hiccups.

Question is:
- What performance will I suffer using just the dx (p2e) ecu, distributor, and intake manifold?
- Is it even worth swapping out any of these if going turbo soon?
- If I stick w/ the dx ecu, can I rig up vtec to activate w/ an apexi vtec controller?

Comments and experiences are much appreciated.
