Don't get me wrong, braid definitely has it's purpose, just not on circuit boards. When I do terminals and larger stuff, it's braid all the way. Braid can soak up massive amounts of solder and do a very clean job if done correctly.

Just shop around or wait for a sale if you can.

i would get one of those guns forsure if i had to do this more then once and a while. i use both braid and a spring loaded radio shack suckr thing, niether work great.

also a trick my friend showed me i still use too, heat the holes and blow them out with a straw, works good but somtimes it leaves "tails" of solder on the back side u have to get off

I clean pcb's with either isopropanol alcohol or flux cleaner, i have both at my disposal from work.
