I was never really in to using braid on circuit boards. I had a weller desoldering gun for years, until I started doing ecu's. Then it just made sense to get something more professional. PLUS the weller used really expensive collection tubes and tips.
What equipment do you use, Chris?

I use the $10 dollar desoldering iron from radio shack it has a sucker ball on it like people use to suck snot out of babies noses. it works great it just gets to hot sometimes and you have to unplug it.

is that the ones you guys are rocking. Maybe its time for me to get out of the dark ages and spend a couple bucks. I ------ hate braid. It does the job but it gets old

Yup, check around though. That price is way too high. I got mine locally at Fry's for $119 on sale. That was about three years ago though, but I think Hakko lists them for $159.
Also make sure it comes with the case. The case is very nice, yes yes. I've seen some places that sell them without it.
