the crane cam timing retard **** says u need their boost map sensor for it to work, to retard under boost., would i need that, or is there some other way to retard your timeing under boost for a pretty cheap price?

oh yeah im running a b18a1 with t3, dsm injectors, and smc, but im in the process of putting it together, and need timing retard.

i think crane's ignition retard only works with a crane ignition. i am not possitive but I don't think it's like a msd btm in the sense that you can use it with stock ignition.

yeah, i went on msd's web page and they have like, 5 different timing controlers.and the one with the **** say it works with your msd ignition, im not trying to run an ignition because of money. i just need a **** that i can adjust, so that when boost kicks in it will retard. is there a certain one that will do that or do i have to but the whole ignition. and wich one works with your stock ignition, haha i dunno i guess im a little slow... a link would be great, thanx

my buddy had a 92 laser awd turbo that dynoded at 457 hp with 20 deg. of ignition retard. at 6 degrees of igntion retard he is well over 600 hp, just trying to show you the significance that timing has on a turbo car. by the way, i have a hmt kit on my car consisting of t-25, dsm 450 cc injectors, and a smc dual. I just phisically retarded the ditrubutor and it work just great. i need to get some kind of measuring device to mease the timing i'm set at, i don;t know i just twisted all the way to be safe.

did you upgrade your fuel pump with your setup? or does the SMC not need that?

no, SMC requires only 450cc injectors and that's it.. i still don't see a point in people going the hassel way of VAFC hack with check valves and fuel pump and FPR.. too much $$ and waste of time.

can u just buy an MSD BTM or do you have to buy an MSD ignition box first then add BTM to it? seems alot of money....
