Why? You only need a degree wheel with an aftermarket cam whose lobe center has nothing to do with stock cam alignment.

hmm, news to me. How do you determine a engines cam timing which has been altered by milling without knowing exactly where to adjust the cams to? Maybe im just used to the OBD2 setup which has a crank timing gear with a magnetic pickup....so what you are telling him to do is line up the cam gears and forget that the crank pulley is not in time with the mark on the oil pump?

Step back and think about it again. If you lock timing at 16 degrees, center the distributor, and adjust the (stock) cam(s)' adjustable gears until your timing light says 16 degrees then - holy ----! - you are in mechanical time. It is impossible to have a correctly timed stock cam engine and not have the distributor centered with the ignition timing correctly set.

PS - why do people on htuner think you are a big meanie pants?

thanks for the explanation. I have yet the chance to use the ignition lock being that i am stilling running the OBD2 distributor setup.

because they have HUGE vagina's and cant take a blunt answer with a grain of salt. I like Mr. Cash to express my feelings. I'm still trying to figure out why being an "douchebag" aka ------- would exempt anyone from being an -------. I've always provided sound advice, in my opinion, and im not a noob to moderating. Most people from the "other forrums" dislike me solely because i am a moderator....oh well. Isnt going to phase me
