I read the letter you got via thrown on your porch thats in a PDF. Damages 1-50 I doubt that reached the california residents. So they are also attacking people also"it sounds" that are publically"internet" defacing their creditability as a compancy and is effecting their business.
A. This site is bad about that already oooops
B. I do agree that Hondata is biting more than they can chew
C. They got money and are substantially are a legit business with patents and I bet the court system will give them the upperhand cause of their resources and documentation that they can dig up before mods start deleting the posts that deface their patents"name aka H0nd@t@" so they dont become vistims too.

Yes they are being quite tha bastards about it. Yes they might win. But how long will it take before someone else unlocks the K code like PGMFI did with the Obd1 systems.

So this is my last statement. They are wrong and right at the same time....So I'm staying neutral until I find more conversation between the 2 parties

Also, what exactly is your point abouth someone eventually cracking the K series code?

Yeah, the guys on PGMFI might delve into Honda's code to start deciphering it and figuring out how it all works like they did with Honda's OBD1 code.

Um all the jdm tuners aka J's/Mugen/spoon broke K series code well before Hondata did just lik they did back in like 1989 with the obdo pr3/pw0 code



J's also has already devloped stuff for the newer si ecu and euro accord which Hondata wont develop because they cant

Cliff notes- your not liable for damages as long as you took down the software as soon as you found it.

(c) INFORMATION RESIDING ON SYSTEMS OR NETWORKS AT DIRECTION OF USERS-

`(1) IN GENERAL- A service provider shall not be liable for monetary relief, or, except as provided in subsection (j), for injunctive or other equitable relief, for infringement of copyright by reason of the storage at the direction of a user of material that resides on a system or network controlled or operated by or for the service provider, if the service provider--

`(A)(i) does not have actual knowledge that the material or an activity using the material on the system or network is infringing;

`(ii) in the absence of such actual knowledge, is not aware of facts or circumstances from which infringing activity is apparent; or

`(iii) upon obtaining such knowledge or awareness, acts expeditiously to remove, or disable access to, the material;

`(B) does not receive a financial benefit directly attributable to the infringing activity, in a case in which the service provider has the right and ability to control such activity; and

`(C) upon notification of claimed infringement as described in paragraph (3), responds expeditiously to remove, or disable access to, the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity.

Sounds legit seriously who do you think the FEDERAL/CIVIL court system is going to believe,,,,,,,an individual thats took bit's and peices of the Hondata code and altered it to fit a different alteration of basically the same make and example or someone that had patents and are a patent holder and a legit business licensed company? Their request is simply insane. I don't get why they believe they deserve moderator rights. I also don't understand why 48 hours isn't "fast enough". I would have told the guy to ---- off and waited for a court order to remove the program.

And Hondata isn't suing pgmfi. They are suing Dave and 1-50 other people that downloaded the software.
