Default Newly aquired knowledge=dumb questions...

Ok, since the TE online class turned into some weird ---- I couldn' understand, I couldn't ask my noob questions without feeling retarded.

So, let's say I have a "bin" that was made for my motor with a perfect tune that runs super duper great. The bin was made for 440cc injectors. Now, if I wanted to use 450cc injectors and use the same "bin", I could just subtract 2.274%(the difference between the 440cc and the 450cc injectors)from the fuel maps to compensate for the added volume and the map would run the same as it did before with the 440cc injectors, correct? The timing maps would all be the same because I didn't touch them, correct? Is this logical?

One more question:

The "properties" section does not transfer from bins, correct? So my properties would stay the same and not change when I open new bins, right? Only the fuel/ignition tables transfer and the rest stays the same? I would have my own set of properties for my setup(rev limits, injector size..etc...etc).....and when I open a new bin, the properties don't come with it so I don't know what the rev limit, injector size, etc...etc was.

Yes you are right to your first question but it won't always be exact, you might have to take away or add a few percent to get it where you want it.

Properties are associated with the actual roms themselves. So lets say you open the ng4.bin and you change some things and save it as your own bin (booststightasstune.bin) , then you retain the properties of the ng4.bin if you didn't change them. But if you go and open up the stable.bin, which is a totally different rom, it may have different properties. I think this is correct.

Doc, I believe the properties do transfer between .bin files. It's the Export .exp file that only the maps transfer with. You open a .bin which contains all the properties and such including the maps and there you can import other maps into that .bin so all the properties stay the same and only the maps change.

Bin files are what you burn to the chip. so all the properties are saved, it's the .Exp files that are naked(maps only)

thanks TE tunning class!

The properties shouldn't be all that hard to remember anyway, right? it's just launch, cold & hot rev limits that work at this point?
I would just work on getting the map down, then go in and make sure those three things are where you want them, and burn.

Yes... .bin files should not be shared between people.

Only share your .exp files.. This will insure that people have nice tunes, and can retain thier personal settings.
