toyota camry aquired quick questions on a turbo setup
ok i gots a camry with the 5sfe i-4 in it.
i have some questions:
would a smic work fine agianst a fmic for temperature ?
i need some estimates on a custom manifold to be made, i heard the turbo mr2 manifold will work, but its hard to find.
the engine is 2.0 litres , so would a dsm turbo or a t-bird turbo work fine for it ? i plan on moving the battery to the trunk to get some more room as well.
thanx [dont hate on da toyota peeps] =P

Re:toyota camry aquired quick questions on a turbo setup
hello, i dont post often but i have to put my .02 cents in on this one. First off your 5S camry motor is a 2.2 liter, same motor that comes in the non-turbo MR2. a 3sgte turbo MR2 manifold will bolt right onto your motor and there NOT hard to find, there always on ebay for 50-100 bucks, and someone is always selling one on our mr2 club message board. your stock pistons and rods and very very weak, but your stock iron block is VERY stout, it can handle up to 700 RWHP(that we know of, nobody is pushing harder then that). Lots of turbo MR2 owners are using the 5S blocks for 2.2 liter strokers. 14b would be a super crappy turbo for your application considering it is around the size of our stock mr2 turbo's the CT26, and the CT26 dies out at around 5500 RPM on our 2.0 liters. I sugest buying a T3/T4 with a .50 compressor/.63 turbine. If you use a MR2 manifold and use any turbo other then the CT26 you will need a adapter plate, which are easy to find for T3/t4 turbos and the TD06-20g turbos.
