You may want to pony up a little more for an Evo 9 for MIVEC (if not for the better turbo), as those motors tend to have 20-30 more whp and wtq stock.

That's only in stock form, and the turbo's are swappable. An evo 8 with that 9 turbo at 9's psi will actually pound a few more ponies than the 9 stock lol. Plus not having to deal with tuning the mivec makes things a bit easier too (I'm in process of doing that for a friend right now, damn 3 timing/fuel tables because of that mivec crap). Most 8's with the normal motor bolt-on's and a 9 turbo at 25psi at into the low 400 all-wheel hp range with a good strong tune. Now take that 9 turbo and send it to Forced Performance for their FP-Green upgrade with HTA wheel and lookout...30+ psi capable and efficient up to the 500whp range.

Sweet! Oh, and a HX-35 is a little on the small side for someone that wants serious power from an evo. Even 60-1's tend to max out a little over 400hp on them. 35r size and up for the big dogs, but the FP Green will flow comparably to a 30r.

I know, I think he was referring to me with the comment. You could slap a to4e on there with a new up-pipe (with a modded flange of course) and remake the downpipe and that WRX would scream lol.

im getting a new turbo from subaru because i said have shaftplay that touches my compressor housing (which i do if i really pull it, and it shouldnt do it period)

itll be in, in a few days (straight from fuji heavy in jdm land) then gotta fit me into the service schedule. question now is, does reflashing really need a wideband to log afr's?

It's definitely advisable. I just finished redoing a "stage 3" type map for my WRX, and the previous afr's were all over the place, especially after installing the FMIC setup and intake. The FMIC was well worth it though in comparison to the stock top-mount and such a tiny turbo, might not be a bad idea to step up to a larger sti sized piece and a set of 450's just to keep temps down. I'm pretty sure the stocker td04 is maxed atm.
