detonation
i would get a timing light, or at least find somebody who has one and borrow it. 5mm seems like a lot. also, guessing on your timing isn't the smartest idea in the world, especially since a timing light can be bought for like $30. you might also try running higher octane gas and you wont have to retard your timing as much, thats what i did.
seriously though, i am giving you a warning. guessing on your timing can seriously ---- your motor over long periods of time. be careful and good luck.

but yeah, retard your base timing a few degrees. time to bust out the timing light
. i also ONLY use 91 octane gas (highest you can get out here), so if you use that cheap 87 octane ---- you might wanna retard it more than two degrees.
let us know how it turns out bro...

lol... ----, i dunno, just taking a guess. hahahaha. i never heard the sound before i did the hack, but i hear it now. i was just trying to blame it on something i guess. im hearing a popping noise and feel a tapping from under my feet. i posted on this before, and i was told it was because my timing was advanced. it sounds like mmmmmm...pop...pop...pop...pop. and it feels like i got a midget under my car with a hammer tapping under my feet. im not sure what it is, but my car hasn't blown up yet...
