Default Amount of psi limited by detonation/turbo type?

I will be running a stock d16z6 with in IHI turbo, msd, fuel pump, Afc hack, 450cc injec, oil cooler, Greddy type s bov, Modfied starion intercooler, with 2.5 in piping.......and I see many people saying that they only run 6-7 psi on this motor becuase it is safe. But as I have been reading I have been wondering as long as I have no detonation and my car gets enough fuel I can run 8- 10 right? My engine wont get too hot or anything like that? PLease feel free to correct me........cus I know I am not 100% about this!
Also if anyone has a setup near this what are your afc settings and did you retard your timing.......I have seen that some people retard it by 1-3 clicks other dont do it at all and claim it runs extremly smooth.? Any thoughts?

man if your using the afc hack you can boost 12psi no problems. sounds like you got a lot of good stuff there. just take it slow and if you hear the detonation lower the boost or increase the fuel using the afc. currently im boosint 11psi daily driven on a d16a6 with no problems and i dont even have a msd! lates

I'm running a d16z and i'm boosting 7.5 for 3 days now :P and I haven't heard a hint of detonation with just my afc (no btm, no retard) and -35 across the board. I think I may be too rich, to tell you the truth! It runs great though, I must say.

if you have the btm, you might want to bump it up, about .2-.3 if your going to run that much boost without any retard.

What are your current AFC settings? And what would happen if you did retard the timming........what is the point of retarding it....what does it do to the turbo/engine
