Default Couple of simple questions about ODB2 to ODB1 and tuning.

First off I would like to say I have read a little bit about the benefits of ODB1 vs ODB2 for tuning. I currently have a stock D16Y7 non vtec and stock ecu. I think it is a P2E. my questions are.

Can I buy a ODB2 to ODB1 harness and use this ecu to tune the car? Or will that not work because the ecu is ODB2.

Do I have to have this ecu chipped first, to use it with the harness if so what is a easy way to get it chipped?

This motor will be getting boosted but I wanted to know what would be the ideal managment for it.

Would it be better to get S300? or screw hondata?

I am sorry for the noob questions. I don’t know ---- about D series or ecu’s pre 2002.

Edit : would this be a better soulition ?

no you will need a OBD1 ECU then...

Do I have to have this ecu chipped first, to use it with the harness if so what is a easy way to get it chipped?
you should get the OBD1 ECU chipped...or just buy one, check the classifieds... (or PM me )

This motor will be getting boosted but I wanted to know what would be the ideal managment for it.
Uberdata or Crome will be fine

Would it be better to get S300? or screw hondata?

Summed up very nicely...

OBD1 tunability is where its at. Are you looking to tune yourself or find a tuner?
