Default boosted d16y8 running lean after 4.5k?? why?

just dynoed my buddies d16y8 sohc vtec today, and that ---- leaned out big time after around vtec too like 14.1-15.3 after 5k..I'm using 440 rc's with apexi safc, I ricjin it as much as i could up top but it still leans out. Almost feels like it didn't make any corrections after vtec. from 1-4k fuel is good, I'm coming too the conclusion is it possibly cause' i'm using s-afc rather than vafc? not having the option of controlling hi-cam? i dunno it's wierd help me out guys. If any of you are using 440's or 450's with s-afc on vtec motors and having problems leaning out around 4.5-7k let me know.

^^^Either that or a new fuel pump. Is this on a stock pump?

yeah it's a stock pump and an inline that came with the rev-hard kit. Yeah i thought about getting a fpr, but I figure 440's are enough too cover all through redline even when vtec engages. any other way of adding fuel on top end?
