Default thinking about buying this bike, what do u guys think

so i get the feeling I need to annoy my neighbors a little bit since i gave up the open DP, thinking about buying this bike for a first bike. I know a 600 is a little too big for a first bike but what really worries me is the millage, so my question is how much would you pay for this bike and is it a good first bike, its going on auction in a couple of weeks and i think i can get a steal

2003 GSXR600 with 14,400 miles the body is in great condition, it is a theft recovery being sold by the insurance company, they dont have a title yet so it might end up being a salvage title,

depends on how much it costs. could be a good deal though if it isnt too expensive. you dont want to start on a bike your worried about dumping because you WILL dump it. my dad used to tell me there are two kinds of bikers, those that have dropped it, and those that are going to.

I fyou get a good deal then go for it. It is high miles for year but It has at minimum 10k more how long would it take you to ride 10k miles. If its salvage title you should get that for under 4k.

man you guys are underestimating the bike. 24000 miles isnt enough to kill it. well depending on the rider its not, but he already said he is new to it so he probably wont be riding it hard. is the high speed/rpms that decrease the longevity of the motor. i wouldnt be surprised to see 35 to 40k out of it if its treated right.

14,000 miles on a bike is pretty low, I've put over 8,000 miles on mine in less than a year, my dad has an old cbr600 with just under 30,000 miles and it runs great, a guy at works harley is a 04 or 05 and he has well over 30,000 miles and it runs perfect. It just seems like high mileage for a bike because most people buy them and let them sit the garage. The only problem I could see with that being your first bike is the power output, it should make around 100hp stock, if you keep it in the low rpms at first you should be fine but don't try and go riding it hard right away cause you'll kill yourself.

the mileage isnt that high for a newer bike. i personally dont like gixxers. kind of a girls bike. not race oriented or fast enough for me. its a great first bike though. that is not factory paint. it may be a good paint job but its not factory. if you can get it for under $4k then do it. any more than that is too much to pay for something you will be bored with in 6 months. it wont take long and you will think its slow and need a 1000cc. or you will start stunting it and bea the ---- out of it
