I like how people keep saying a 600 is slow, most people that say this don't even ride, Most run 10's stock, you should'nt be pushing a 600 to its limits on the street anyways

it depends which 600 lol...

lots of 600 streetbikes are very slow. all the new race bred sport bikes are very fast... the older 600 sport bikes are very slow...

i say buy the bike, tear it apart with a sawzaw and build a three wheeler

I was refering to the newer ones, even the early 90's models had nearly 100hp and weighed in at about 400lbs which is a pretty good power to weight ratio

Bikes didn't start getting cool until '95. Semi-downdraft carbs, shim-under bucket valves, sub 400lbs, TPS ingition advancing digital ignitors ect. Everything up til then was ---- execept may the GPZ750-E turbo. If you are comparing bike of todays standards then any thing 5 years or older is an antique.
For a first time beater bike that thing should be plenty. In 6 months, when the O.P. out grows it, he can just do what I did to my 600. Turbo it.
