Default intake manifold design

looking to make an intake manifold for my turbo miata. i was wondering if anyone has any write ups or can touch me up on some basic manifold design theories and such.

There will be a ton dyno time getting the most out of your intake. But there are some good "rule of thumbs in the book Maxium Boost. Plus there is a ton of books on NA engine building that go a long way. The other thing you can do is try and copy some other know good manifolds. There is a great place to buy supplies for a intake project. http://www.rossmachineracing.com

Good luck

manifold design is based around rpm of the motor, power of the motor, throttle body size, head flow, etc

Its more trial and error more than naything

I'd keep your runners, too, but shorten them a hair and port them a bit bigger. No more than 6-7 degrees taper or else you get shear problems.

As long as we can fiddle individual injector trims, and the manifold isn't designed to overfeed the last runner, it's not going to be terribly hard to deal with any minor mismatch in flow. Said mismatch will be offset by the reduction in pumping losses.

Is this a merge collector turbo manifold?
