I'm an idiot face to face. Verbal interaction is not one of my gifts.

I'd shoot you in the kneecaps first, of course.

Kneecapping me does nothing to prevent you getting a pirate hook to the face.

The reason i suggested a small plenum was looking at a few examples of factory turbo motors.

I'm thinking of two specific examples. The 405 T16, which is the production version of the pikes peak car. It has almost no plenum and short runners in a 1-2-4 design. I've seen this plenum cope with 400+ hp

The other being the ford cosworth, again, short runners, small plenum. Packaging concerns probably played a fairly large part in this. Either way, both cars have great tuning potential and rarely do owners change the inlets.

You can correct flaws with cylinder trim and to a certain extent charge robbing will occur with any design, but i still don't see the point of a large plenum on a turbocharged car.

Rally car or OEM have nothing to do with high VE high power production. Those cars are meant for quick spool and throttle response, NOT big power.

But surely you want a nice quick spool and throttle response on something like an mx5. Its all about the bends!

I don't see the obsession figures, its about what its like to drive.

No, quick spool in a light chassis is jerky and uncontrollable. NA cars are pretty peaky and it works well for them.
