well i have an si tranny on my crx and i was thinking of putting the hf tranny on the car would it be a good idea to do that would i get more power or lose power let know guys

 

dont really know if you would gain/loose power from a tranny swap. You might run beter in the 1/4 with the hf, because you'll only use 1,2, and 3.

 

keep the si

 

if you like shiting into 3nd at 80 mph go with the hf


The hf trans is complete junk plain and simple

 

Si has shorter gears.

 

the si tranny is the one to stick with the hf has such tall gears and i personally run a zc tranny which is a great trans if you do minimal freeway driving because of the low gearing in it. the si is the best for all around driving.

 

 

well i re-did the turbo on my rex i had a rx7 turbo that was boosting till 4500 rpm to 4psi total and i ended up putting a t25 that spools at 2500 rpm at 9psi car runs alot stronger and better but i has to do it all ghetto and i kept the si tranny and put a xtd 6 puck clutch ill take it to the trak on friday and see what it runs
on the old turbo it ran 15 flat on a bad clutch and at 4 psi ill post pics tommorow

 

Good call on keeping the si tranny, shorter gears = faster acceleration.
