A long d series tranny like the S/Dx will not really help a boosted car, correct
I heard people say that long gears are good for boost. well at what point is that true? I had an Si tranny and it broke so I replaced it with my stock S/dx tranny.
Is this a better tranny for boost?

i hate it when people say long gears are good for boost. The shorter your gears are the faster you are going to accelerate period. The only reason you would want longer gears would be if your gearing was so short that traction was impossible.

anyone that thinks the cx trans is good for boost has never driven a car with the cx trans. The only thing that tranny is good for is saving gas and taking a crap in.

my car ran good with the dx tranny. got it down to low 13s but theoretically the si tranny should be faster...never got a chance to try it though...

not true, the cx tranny makes an awsome top speed car....lol!! i put a zc in my 92 hatch and was to cheap to buy another tranny so i just bolted her up. 1st gear went to 40 mph at i think 6000 rpm (no tach at time). 2nd gear went to 80 mph at same rpm!!! never took 3rd up though. bottom blew ***!!!! got rid of that ---- though
