Once you blow the seals in the turbo (from oil pressure), do they just go back to normal once you get the oil flowing properly, or are they fucked for good?

Just curious because there was a restricter on my turbo when I got it, and I took it off and it blows smoke like a champ. I think I know why the restricter was on it now, but it shouldn't be doing that if the seals were good.

Mine never went back to normal when i smoked my first T3 even after I fixed the kinked oil return. Alot of the smoke was burning oil in my exhaust that was left over, but I slapped a new T3T4 on and she's ripping once again.
