Default Turbo seals trashed = Boost lag???

I know I need to rebuild my turbo, Im just lazy and have been puting it off. My seals are leaking crazy oil at about 5psi in line. After running the car hard I start burning oil in the DP and I find oil leaking from the cold side. Ill prolly rebuild this week...finally... maybe. NE wayz, the leak has progesively gotten worse and Ive notice im not spooling till 3100 where I used to spool at around 2700. Could the turbo itself be leaking boost. Ive already thouroughly searched for exhaust leaks but nothing. Im pretty sure its the seals but wanna be sure.

If there is oil coming out of the cold side, and lots of oil coming out the hot side (out of the exhaust) and the engine isnt burning any oil. You definatly need a rebuild. I've seen turbos that have needed a rebuild and have just got worse and worse over time, some took longer to spool, some made crazy noises. Get it fixed!

I know its needed a rebuild, Ive just been lazy. I work nights, sleep days, so when Im off I usually work on the car at night. the neighbors dont like the sound of power tools at 3 in the morning... I figured it was the seals causing the lag just wanted to be sure. If the turbo goes before I rebuild Ill just buy another. Yeah, thats rights, Im lazy...and...
