upgrading new turbo, do I need to buy new seals?
I inherited a brand new IHI, the new turbo has a small compressor and a non-watercooled centre section.
I'm going to use the compressor and watercooled center housing from a t-bird, but use all the guts from the new turbo.
This is a factory new unused turbo, not a rebuild, will I need to buy new seals after I take it apart or can I reuse them?

Instead of tearing down that turbo and going for water cooling, why not just cool the oil going into the turbo?
Run in line an oil cooler before the turbo(if ya got the psi).
Just a suggestion.

Why tear apart a perfectly new turbo? Sell that bitch and buy one that already has water ports. Save yourself some money so you can invest in a stealthmode oil line kit or something (or some **** from Projekteg).
