Hello to all! I just signed up moments ago, I am a long-time auto-hobbyist with plenty of experience in early Mustang restoration, much experience as a motorcyclist, I have wanted to plunge into the Turbo pool for a while now, so here we are. I am not the very best mechanic but i have a well-equipped shop and do all my own maint/repairs, and have a good selection of tools, grinders, gas welder, MIG.
The only thing I lack to get a turbo on my 2005 V6 Sierra is knowledge, experience. This will be my first effort but how tough can it be? Highschool kids are turboing their Geo Metros--I should be able to make a reasonable effort with my pickup. I will welcome all advice you may have.

Hi m8 , all have been written up here , best way would be twin turbo setup , u need to calculate flow and what pressure u want and perhaps lower compression ratio

 

There's plenty of V8s running single turbos these days - a single turbo on a 4.3 V6 would likely be a bit simpler and cheaper, unless you happen to have a good supply of small junkyard turbos. This can be broken down into a couple of steps:

• Matching the turbo to your intended use - a towing project is going to be very different from if you're trying to compete in X275 drag racing. The intended use will also dictate what you need for the next couple steps.
• Fabricating suitable exhaust, intake, and oil piping.
• Fuel system and tuning.
