Default New to forum with Jeep Turbo Project seeking advise

I am going to be installing a small turbo(Garrett SuperT 60 modified) on my 03 Jeep Wranlger 4.0 5spd. I am getting a mount and turbo from a guy who tried this set up before but was unsuccessful tuning it to run right. My plans for engine management is to use a Split Second FTC1. Right now I have a PSC and a FMU but neither of those will work very well without timing control I believe. I think my most cost effective way to go is sell the Split Second PSC and FMU I have to get a FTC1. ( Unless there is a better cheaper one I don;t know about) I plan on using 30# Ford Racing Injectors to give it some extra fuel. Also I do not really have room to mount or plumb a intercooler very easy. My thoughts are to get a "Devils Own" or piece together a similiar meth/water injection system running off my factory washer resivior. I will be using casper o2 sims too. Plan on running about 6-7psi. Anyone on here turbo'd a jeep? Got any tips or see some problems with my idea??

Matt

I was going to turbo my XJ and use a DSM sidemount and a fan.

I think you're doing a fine job of addind knock to your engine as it is. No need to worry about it. :P

Hrrm anyone else think a super 60 trim is too small for a 4.0 L6? For 6-7 psi of boost, you may want to think about a larger turbo. I run a GT28R on my 22rte, which flows close to the same as the super 60, IMO well matched for the 2.4L. Other than that sounds like you're on your way!

A lot fo these guys just want to bump up some torque, which the S60 compressor WILL do. I think the turbine side is a bit small, tho, even for a low spooling low end stump puller.
