Default External wastegate questions

Ok I am setting up a holset hx35 on my dsm and I am going to run an external on the manifold. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the tial 38mm knock offs from evans performance? Hpow well do they work? would I be better off just getting a real tial 38mm?

I would say stick with name brand. How much are the knockoff's? You can find used tials for like $160, and new ones for like $180 or so.

the knockoffs are $65 shipped. The reason that I am thinking about one of them is I just dont have alot of extra cash. Does anyone have any experience with the knockoffs

^^ Just trying to help the OP... He has a nice holset turbo... just figured it he spent that kind of money on the turbo, he would continue the trend throughout his motor. Oh yea... $2k is enough for a turbo kit. Here's my kit.
Turbonetics t3/t4 turbo - $400
Prosport boost/oil psi gauges and pod - $200
Wide band & AEM Uego gauge - $190
Competition stage 2 Clutch and 11lb flywheel - $500
Log Mani - $100
Tial WG (7lb spring) & dumptube - $160
DP - $100
RC 750cc Injectors w/ clips and resistor box - $250
Fast turbo oil lines - $100
Oil sandwich plate - $40
IC/Charge piping/Greddy RS BOV - $150
Tap for Oil Pan - $30
Greddy Turbo Timer (although not necessary) - $50
Vacuum lines & fittings - $25
Couplers & Tbolt clamps - $40

Totals to $1,985.00. Already had the S300 system from previous cars, so yes, I am in process of turbo-ing a Civic with $2000.

BTW, I never mentioned anything bad about knock-off WG's, so let's stay away from the defensive tone.

I talked to Evan about it and the new ones are $100 shipped. Fully rebuildable with tial parts and they come with 7, 9, and 15 lb springs. So I think I am going to give EP the chance and try his stuff.
