ZC motor questions

Re:ZC motor questions
I think the only issue would be the distibutor wiring. You would have to move some pins and wire the cam angle sensor in. That's no biggie. Other than that I think it plugs right in.
BTW, we are still on for that head swap right? It should be coming your way Monday.

Re:ZC motor questions
hmm, alright, I'll keep looking about the wiring, yeah we're still on... It will take me a day or two to swap it if the weather doesn't warm up here in PA Then I'll ship her out. Did you send the MO yet?

Er, what money order? ----, I forgot I still had to pay you. I'll send that out Friday if that's cool. I spent too much money. I'm in no hurry so you can pull the head anytime you want.

Re:ZC motor questions
Just plug the ZC in. Get a manual I think some sensors will be left out...depends on what year ZC you got, cause here we got them from 88-92(black top OBD0 ZC) And not all of them are the same D16A9 and D16Z5..both DOHC. I heard of some of them being sold in the US.
Chip a P06 or a P28 ecu and tune it.....It should run perfect if you got it tuned right. a SOHC dizzy will work....only you won't use the sensor on the exhaust cam anymore cause it's build in the SOHC dizzy. You do need a OBD1 dizzy...cause the OBD0 dizzy won't work...something about different tooth count.

Re:ZC motor questions
my roommate did a swap like this 2 years ago into a 94 ex 4dr the engine bolts right in and there are virtually no problems with the wiring harness, just ignore the crank angle sensor and if the car started out as vtec just leave the vtec solenoid plugged in and zip-tie it somewhere out of the way, use all the sensors that came with the car and you should have no problems. also you must use the obd1 distributor
