whast the difference between the zc and d16y5? Also which one is better? i keep reading about people putting zc's in, but i dont know why. Dont rag on me for asking this question, i know about cars, just not about these engines. thanx for your help.

the zc d16a8 & d16y9 are japanese domesitic nonvtec dohc engines putting out 130hp and bolt right up in rexes and civics, you could even use your existing tranny, ecu etc. They cost 350+ bucks and are a real bang for the buck. The d16y5 is a usdm vtec sohc engine putting out 115 hp is an obdII and comes in the 96+ civic hxes. hope that helped try a search b4 posting

i have a 90 rex Dx i was goign to put a d16z6 head on it, but i heard the wiring is complicated, should i just go for a full ZC engine?

and for the zc what wiring harness would i need and ecu?
