I got a greddy turbo kit w/ intercooler installed on my d16y5 and it takes over 3500rpm to reach full boost (5psi) also have an in tank wallbro 255 fuel pump...
every post soch-turbo i read says they get full boost in the 2krpm range.. why mines takes much longer?

Some cars vary.. Especially since yours is not vtec, they intake manifold has a differnt flow design. Some of those guys could be running No cat-convertors, with huge exhaust. It all varys dude..
I think you are spooling just fine, and wouldnt worry about it.

during open headders it spooled at 3000k and u could feel the turbo pull.once i added a 2" cat and exaust it took 500 mre rpm to get full boost and the pull is much more gradual..
15G is very small... some peope claim full boost at 2200 rpm most between 2500 & 2800rpm.

The reason why it spooled faster with open headers is there was less backpressure and there was better air flow. When you added the cat/exhaust there was more backpressure and more tubing for the air to flow through.
