z1 head

Re: z1 head
I have a friend shooting for 600 whp with a free B17 (B16) head that wouldn't go into VTEC reliably. We locked it in VTEC, and do not care. For a z1 build I'd keep VTEC and milk the 1.9 million mpg.
z1gay, you're wound awful tight over this subject. Rent some time with your sister + relax.

Re: z1 head
yeah, im having a pretty shitty month, my mom passed unexpectedly on the 5th of this month, and im next of kin, so i had to do all the arrangements and stuff, so i have been a little on edge. SORRY to anyone i affended or whatever.
as for the compression ratio, i did just check it out and even w/ a stock y8 head gasket and vitaras compression is near 9.5:1, because the vitaras shorter compresed height. i still would tell anyone its a good idea to use one for anything.
my z1 was getting 40+mpg 100% city driving w/ crossover at 2400rpm and running really rich, EGR blocked off, and no closed loop. so gas mileage is pretty nice even once modded, but there is nothing you can do to make it quick (i didnt say fast). point is, dont mess w/ the z1 if you care about performance.

This is HMT, if anyone's panties are in a wad no one cares. Unless it's an excuse to flame someone, but then they don't really care.
My mom's got cancer, so I know it's coming. I expect to be a huge assmallet and have no intention of apologising when the time comes.
BTW, massive EGR + ignition advance = more mpg.

BTW: NO EGR+ low timing+ open loop+ 12.5:1 a/f = less MPG. thanks for the lesson though.

Re: z1 head
damn, you should be doing better than that on MPG, mine was hybrid trans too, ex FD, so i was always revved, but when i did the gear swap mileage only dropped 1-2 on average, i think the 4.00 FD would be ideal for an upgrade from a cx/vx trans, but still get the same mileage, its my theory that the crap vx final drive hurts MPG in city driving, no doubt its better on the highway, but too much throttle input is needed to get around town. oh, and i forgot to mention, before i blocked the EGR, went open loop and chipped ecu my VX completely stock was getting 28mpg 100% highway driving, talk about some kind of shittened.
