All right i was having a problem with my car. ended up the ecu if fried. i borrowed my friend ecu and it worked fine no check engine light.

So i bought one from somebody. i recieved it today I plugged it in and it idled rough and fluctuated around 500rpm. and had a check engine light on.

I put my friends ecu in it and no cel idled fine.

tried the ecu i bought again and same thing idled rough with cel.



So my question is does the manufacture date on the ecu matter?or is the ecu bad?

mine has a date of sept10 1998
my frineds is sept 98

the one i bought is feb23rd 1998.


I jumped my ecu still throws code 65.(rear o2 sensor)
the ecu i bought throws code 15 ( ignition output sensor)

a borrowed ecu dont throw any codes
