Stock coil has nothing to do with ignitor.

The tach output from the ignitor is a synthesized output originating from the ignitor - it is a different circuit from the one that drives the coil, but once it goes power flows differently in the ginitor and it typically takes a complete ---- within 5-10K miles, sometimes less.

You either have ignitor problem or loose/shoddy thermostat housing ground.

Yah, you run that circuit when you are a stupid ------- ***** and waste money on an MSD box, and want to save yourself from the embarrassment of continual igniter failure. It still doesn't address the fact that the MSD box itself is known to fail, or that the MSD box gives *zero* performance increase, although significant power losses due to MSD boxes have been documented, but since MSD warranties their miscegenated product for life ****** buy them and are happy.

Most of the HT Tuenarboi crew are douches, but do a post history search from Tony Palo, John @ LHT in Tampa, or Jeff Evans. All of those guys know their ---- and say stock Honduh ignition until 400, Blaster coil to 500, and then they push COP or raised voltage on primary windings. There have been several dyno charts documenting power losses of 40 whp at 400 whp level. I've pushed 500 on stock coil, plugs die every cold warmup due to glazing, but no need for an MSD in my experience. There are plenty of useful things I could buy with MSD money, Holmes.

Regardless, it's common sense if you've basic digital under your belt. Ignition output signal timing is pretty ------- molested, between distributor sensors --> ECU where the ECU converts analog to digital signal at some undisclosed point on the sine wave --> igniter --> MSD intercepts igniter output and proceeds to recalculate what it wants to do with the timing based on "need" for multiple spark bullshit --> coil.

Eh, I'm merely a good mechanic, decent electronics hobbyist, and a solid observer. Exposure to three guys in my circle who are either ex-dealer techs or were raised by one, and the occaisional 4 am drunk as a skunk discussion with Blundell on Honduh ignition logistics with an eye to fitting something radically different in the stock components' place, and being an old crusty ---- kinda cement the deal.
