well they have never broke under 4 seconds, but i saw one that did 4.8 or something.. i'll try and find it again...

dang i can't find it, i don't think it was around 4 seconds, but it was slightly slower than the supercharged and nitrous top fuel dragsters...

but i found this...

I personally like the turbo and will always go with a turbo over a supercharger. Mainly cause the turbo uses "useless" exhaust gas to make hp while with a supercharger you need to get the engine up to a certain rpm to spin the belts fast enough to make enough hp.in other words

turbocharger gives you something out of nothing( exhaust )

supercharger takes power to make power ( rpm to turn the belts and get the supercharger up to rpm boost )

besides its so much more fun when you hear that sweet suculent sound of a B.OV. and its less expensive ;)

Is that suppsoed to be a good time? There's a white, full race, CRX here that does 11.75 on a B18C with a T3/T4..

Probably cost a 1/4 half as much as that Mustang GT plus, ----, it half the engine! ;D

----, it's less than half the engine! If it's a 5.0 and he's running a 1.8, thats almost three times the engine! And if its a 4.6 then thats like 2 1/2 times the engine! Sorry about the whole math thing ::) I just had to re-enforce the point that out that a 1.8 turbo Honda beat a 4.6 or 5.0 supercharged Mustang.

the 1.8 might have been built. and he was probably running a lot of boost. either way added a turbocharger is just like adding liters.

Get a turbo. Super chargers take Hp to turn. Even more they take torque to turn the pulley. They have no problem on v8's because of the CC and torque of a v8. Now imagine what it would take for a 1.8 liter to turn a SC. The motors are so small and not torquey enough to spin that SC.You'd rob more Hp than gain. With a turbo now it runs on wasted energy which would be your exhaust. Yes you will encounter turbo lag but with technology out there now you can almost eliminate all turbo lag. With the properly sized turbo and fuel management you could extract so much more horse than a Supercharger would ever come close to. And there are so many more items to upgrade into a turbo to make it faster. Plus super chargers run all time meaning you will always be pushing boost. If you wanted that you would need to bullet proof the bottom end. Now with a turbo its fully adjustable depending on your boost equiptment. If you didn't want boost just turn the boost controller all the way down and drive like normal without worrying about wearing the motor out. Can't do that with a SC. From what it sounds it looks like you are on a small budget and SC's are more expensive anyways. Either way you go I would run though the motor first and replace the internals, atleast pistons and rods and while you are in there bearing and seals. I hope that helps you pick out what you want.

thank you guys for your help. i am going to go with a turbo i am going to save up some cash and build the motor a bit so i will feel better then i will get a decent turbo. i would rather rebuild now then do it later ;/ the motor only has bout 70,000 miles on it but i am still going to work on it a bit. thank you again though.
