Default Weird hybrid question-d15 head on d16 block?

i'm guessing they should be compatible. I know this is a weird head/block combination, but I have the head ready to go and I could get the block and all associated hardware including pistons, rods, and crank for about $15. Seems like a sweet deal considering I have all the parts I would need to make it go. Any comments, or at least, insight on why this wouldn't work?

Only thing I can think of is cam timing like when you put the d16a cam into a d15b but if you have the d16a6 cam it's a d16a has the heads are the same

if it's a d16a6 block and I have a d15b7 head, are you saying the timing would be messed up? If it would be, is there a way to fix that without getting a d16 cam? and if I do get a d16 cam, is is possible to put it in a d15 head even though the d16 cam is vtec and the d15 head is not? (as you can see i'm a little lost here)

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only thing I could think of is if the block is a VTEC block you would need to put the oil passage orifice thing in it.

I was planning on running a Z6 block with an A6 head. I'm too cool for VTEC. :P

What timing belt would you us for both of those setups?

z6 block, a6 head that drops the compression? I think it would. Thats a good idea....

back in the day one of the techs at honda told me that the 1.5 DX EF and the 1.6 Si/EX EF had the same heads on em. i always thought they were the same since then and never seem to notice a difference when i use em, i use the same belt they both use is the b7 head from a ef or what i cant remember off head.

Same head different cam....same camgear...just slap the A6(non-vtec for dummies) cam in the B7 head and it's all good...just set the base timing ...and your done
