It's about six years old, has 80K on it, and revs to 8500 daily. I'm sure they will give out eventually, though.

Maxie-san, I have yet to see a rod break that wasn't related to a mechanical over rev or oil pump failure that welded the big end to the crank; that 300 whp stock B16/LS and 350 whp stock GSR rule of thumb stuff is all related to stock piston-wall clearances, and if you set that loose I'm pretty sure a whole lot more is possible on a "stock" engine. The piston will always be weak if detonated on, but the OEM carbon drop forged rod is a mild form of excellence.

I mis-posted. I meant LS rod BOLTS will give. Not the rod. The rod is not usually the problem. It's the unfortunate bolt stretch.

Brad Z at RLZ was only the ten thousandth to dismiss the rumor that Honda rod bolts are weak. The problem with stock bolts is that when you talk about them it is when discussing reusing them in a build. That means a retard usually got in there with a torque wrench and tightened them good n tight to the point they want to ------- fail - it doesn't mean they are weak to begin with.
