Tuner Toy rods question with vitaras pistons

I got a small honer at sears today and honed the rods until the pistons pin could bearly fit through when pushing using my thumbs. its pretty tight. I tried to compare the amount of rod to pin spin on the stock d16z6. should i hone more? Anyone hone the rods themselves? on honda-tech they said take it to the machine shop.

i would take it to a machine shop just to be safe

I'd hone it out a bit more.. It shouldnt be super tight at all, I did all my tuner toys rods, only took a few mins.

why cant they just get it right?...or are they meant for press fit pins

the piston will turn side to side if the rod is flipped. thats how tight i have it.

Because its better to have them a little bit on the smaller side. Example a Arias wrist pin that has been used for 2 years might not be identicle to a JE/SRP wrist pin that is brand new. So hone to fit is the way to go.
