Upgrading from stock fuel pump
When should a stock fuel pump be upgraded. When you make a certain amount of power? My setup is a d16z6 uberdata/450cc, wrx turbo pushing 6-7 lbs at butt dyno says 150 whp. I'm considering it since I can pick up a walbro 255 for a decent price.

Re:Upgrading from stock fuel pump
I'm pretty sure the stock pump is good to, oh I'd say about 14 lbs or so. Maybe more. The reason why people upgrade isn't because they really HAVE TO, it's because they want to take the stress off the stock pump so they are sure nothing is going to happen to it.
The stock pump is good on our boosted cars, it's just working harder than normal. That's why you upgrade.

Re:Upgrading from stock fuel pump
The money wasn't really the issue, its a ------- PITA to do in a EF !!
I upgraded b/c I #1 had a spare VR4 pump, #2 was having fuel problems and thought it might have been the fuel pump ( turns out I was getting TOO MUCH fuel ), and #3 my stock one had 155K miles and 9 bottles worth of 80psi fuel presure, so I figured it was about time..
150whp !! Stock pump can do that all day..
