type R pistons

Default type R pistons

i put b18c5 piston in my b18a1 block a i was wondering it the pistons are going to hit the valves the piston stick a little over the top so do i need a two layer head gasket

You should ask on honda tech, most of us have D series engines, however if you say they stick a bit over the top of the sleeve then I assume that is not a good thing and you should get a thicker head gasket.

i think it will hit.since type-r pistons have a high dome the ls head is shallow in the valve combustion chamber.b16/b18c heads the chamber is deeper for that.

i think its def gonna hit, cuz the different size piston and knowing type-r's have a higher c/r. This should have been a question to ask BEFORE putting in the pistons, dont ya think?

Just make sure you check before you fire your motor up. Put some putty or something on your piston and valve relief area and bolt your head on. Then turn the motor over by hand. Remove your head and measure your clearance.
